Somes Sound View Campground is a beautiful retreat for vacationers who love the outdoors. Located on Mount Desert Island, home of Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, SSVC provides a wonderful retreat. This very natural environment—with woods, mountains, and ocean—is a peaceful, intimate camping setting.

Located on the property is a wonderful historic granite quarry, that provided many of the beautiful coping stones that line the roads of Acadia National Park and adorn private estates throughout the Island, as well landmark buildings in the U.S. It is also situated along side Somes Sound, the only glacial fjord on the east coast.

The campground was created by Joseph Musetti 45 years ago, and is stilled owned and operated by the Musetti family.

SSVC provides many amenities, including a boat launch, pier, mooring rentals, kayak rentals, hot showers, camp store, flush toilets, ice, and sites with electricity and water.

Open from June through September.
